SPEC Ships CPU2000 V1.2

As of 12/07/2001, SPEC is shipping Version 1.2 of its popularCPU2000 benchmark suite. Please note, as of 01/29/2002 SPEC is no longer accepting results submitted using a CPU2000 version less than 1.2.

SPEC CPU2000 V1.2 includes expanded tool and benchmark support for Mac OS X and portability code for Windows XP 64-bit edition and glibc 2.2. All new orders for SPEC CPU2000 will automatically receive this version; licensees of V1.1 can receive a free update by contacting the SPEC office at info@spec.org and providing their license information.

SPEC CPU2000 V1.2 addresses several issues and bugs that were discovered in V1.1. All of the changes are meant to improve the usability and portability of the CPU2000 tools and benchmarks. The workloads have not changed, and results generated with V1.2 are comparable to results with Version 1.0 and 1.1 (on its results pages, SPEC will not distinguish between 1.0 and 1.1 results).
