The OPC project group has unanimously approved an update of the DesignReview (DRV) viewset. The latest version of the viewset, DRV-04, includes walkthrough simulations that are better representations of how the application is used in the real world. Results for DRV-04 will be reported in the August update of the GPC News. Because of changes in the viewset tests, DRV-04 results will not be comparable with those from previous versions of the DRV viewset.

DesignReview is a 3D computer model review package specifically tailored for plant design models consisting of piping, equipment and structural elements such as I-beams, HVAC ducting, and electrical raceways. It allows flexible viewing and manipulation of the model for helping the design team visually track progress, identify interferences, and locate components. DesignReview also facilitates project approvals by providing clear presentations that technical and non-technical audiences can understand.
