Technical Leadership: Anshu Arya, AMD
Anshu Arya was a key contributor to the seven-year SPECworkstation 4.0 benchmark development effort, contributing massive amounts of code, helping organize and move all the code to GitHub, spending endless hours on testing, helping obtain and implement code signing certificates, helping to coordinate various user interface and command line interface issues, and providing significant input on the benchmark’s user documentation. He took over leadership of the project as Chair in 2022 and oversaw the release of the first alpha build in December 2022, before transitioning to Vice Chair through the release of the benchmark in December 2024.

Technical Leadership: Brian Bothwell, Lenovo
Brian Bothwell’s dedicated efforts were instrumental in the multi-year development of the new SPECworkstation 4.0 benchmark, a significant enhancement over its predecessor. The new modular UI, designed by Brian, allows users to install and uninstall specific workloads, streamlining benchmark usage. Its architecture supports continuous integration/continuous deployment, simplifying future updates. This plug-and-play model, standardizing all GWPG benchmarks, will be used in SPECviewperf 15 and future SPECapc benchmarks, transforming workload development. Brian’s substantial and impactful contributions to the codebase, including hundreds of hours of cross-team coordination and GitHub commits, ensured a high-quality benchmark.

Technical Contribution: Jim Himer, Supporting Contributor
Jim Himer’s work on the SPEC CPU committee has been invaluable, particularly his work on the SPEC CPU 2017 benchmark result reviews. His unique insights often uncover critical details missed by other reviewers, and he voluntarily tackles the most challenging reviews, freeing up other reviewers to work on result review tools or benchmark development scripts. He regularly provides a result review tally spreadsheet that helps the committee Chair ensure that review assignments are distributed fairly.

Outstanding Leadership: Joseph Yiu, ARM
Joseph Yiu has played an invaluable role in the transition of EEMBC into SPEC and the establishment of the SPEC Embedded Group. He worked closely with SPEC board members to establish and adopt the new Group’s charter and policy documents and took on the role of the Embedded Group’s first Chair. Joseph worked tirelessly behind the scenes to coordinate membership connections, provide technical support, and help SPEC staff manage the needs of former EEMBC members and customers.
